Electronic file transfer is simplified by following the guidelines and chart below. BAL is committed to remaining as current as possible with the advances in software technology.
Vector: Files can be used for artwork. Our preference is Adobe Illustrator (extension .ai).
Bitmap: Files can be used for artwork if furnished to us with the following requirements: 300 DPI, 1:1 scale or larger with correct traps and bleeds (in layers when possible).
Page: Files can be used for artwork, but have limited editing capabilities for printing.
CAD: Files can be used to generate blueprints or linework, but we do not consider CAD files as artwork.
